Bethel University Scholarship

The Converge Southwest Foundation has a scholarship available for a qualifying student who attends Bethel University in St. Paul Minnesota for the 2007-08 school year.  These funds are available through a trust established many years ago by Hannah Carlson.  In addition, as CSW did not receive any applications for the 2006-07 scholarship, those funds have supplemented the 2007-08 scholarship. The student who receives this scholarship may also qualify for matching funds from the University; the deadline for applying for these matching funds is May 1, 2007.  The scholarship may be split between two or more prospective students if several qualify. 

The only requirements for qualification are that the applicant has been a CSW church member in good standing for at least two years, was involved in the youth activities there and has at least a 2.0 (“C”) grade point average.  The student will be asked to write a brief letter describing their college plans and their own personal statement of faith. 

Please contact Jennifer Feehan (Jennifer@convergesw.org) at the CSW office if you know a student who would like to apply.  We will follow up with them regarding all necessary paperwork.  We ask that you submit the names of potential scholarship recipients by March 15, 2007 to allow enough time for the student to apply for matching funds from Bethel.
